Glazed privacy policy

Summary

Glazed has no accounts and does not ask for your name, email or contacts. Your progress, coins, boosters and settings are stored only on your device. The current version shows no ads. Unless you turn it off in Settings, the app sends anonymous play statistics to Google Analytics for Firebase to help improve the game.

Information stored on your device

Level progress, the board you are in the middle of, finished mosaic pictures and gallery, Daily Puzzle results and streaks, coin balance, boosters, purchases you have made, your reminder time and your sound, music, haptics and display settings. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

Advertising

The current version shows no ads and does not request any. A later version may show ads through Google AdMob; if it does, this section will say so and the date above will change before that version is released. In that case AdMob may collect and use your device's advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from it, device and app information, and ad interaction data to show and measure ads, to prevent fraud, and, where you allow it, to personalise ads. Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland) the app will ask for your consent first. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Purchases

The current version sells nothing. When optional in-app purchases (coin packs, bundles, Remove Ads) are offered, they are processed entirely by Google Play. The app never sees your payment details; it only receives confirmation that a purchase was made, and stores what you bought on your device.

Anonymous play statistics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

What is sent. From version 1.0.1 the app sends short events to Google Analytics for Firebase describing how play goes: when a Journey level or Daily Puzzle is started (the level number or the date of the Daily, its difficulty tier, how many tiles it has and which attempt it is), when it is cleared (how long it took, how many boosters were used, whether it was the first clear), when a booster is used and which one, when the tray fills up and what you chose next (an extra slot, tiles back, retry or leave), when a level gift is opened (its level, coins and items) and when a chapter's picture is finished. No name, email, account, contact, precise location or free text is ever sent. Firebase also records what it collects for every app by default: an app-instance identifier generated for this install, the app version, device model, operating system version, language, country derived from the IP address, and when the app was opened. The advertising ID is not collected, Android ID collection is switched off, and analytics data is never used for advertising or ad personalisation and is not shared with anyone else.

Why. To see which levels are too hard or too easy, which boosters help, and where players stop, so the game can be made better.

How to opt out. Open Settings → Privacy and turn off Share anonymous play stats. Nothing more is sent from that moment. Firebase keeps analytics events for at most 14 months, after which they are deleted. Uninstalling the app removes its identifier from your device. See Firebase privacy and security.

Reminders

If you turn on the optional daily reminder, the app schedules it on your device with Android's own notification system. No server is involved and nothing is sent anywhere. You can turn reminders off in Settings at any time.

Sharing results

When you share a result, the app hands the text or picture to your device's share sheet. The app itself sends nothing; what happens next is up to the app you choose.

Crash reports

The app does not include a crash-reporting service.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
